On Our Way Home!

The wifi wasn't working at the hotel yesterday so we've got some pictures and more posts to come but we're all on the bus home now very tired from all the skiing but happy to have had such a fun week.

A Horse Drawn Carriage!

Today we got up early and caught a bus to a place where a woman took us up a mountain to a cosy and warm cabin were we had a hot chocolate and apple strudel which was heavenly. It was very cold and windy and my feet were freezing but we had nice big warm blankets to put over our laps. In the afternoon we got dropped off at the bus station, but we missed the bus so we had to find somewhere to warm up our feet and get something to eat. We found a hotel and the restaurant was beautiful, we both had a toasted ham and cheese sandwich with a salad side. In the evening we got a bus back to the town to pick up some nose drops from the pharmacy and then we had a walk back to the hotel.

Miss Gargum chatted the whole way up and down the  mountain!

Hizir's 16th Birthday!

Today Hizir had his 16th Birthday and of course we couldn't go without celebrating it! His day started off with being woken up by staff singing him Happy Birthday and throwing a bunch of balloons in his room. He also got to wear birthday balloons and a sash on the slopes with the other award winners:

As it was his birthday Hizir insisted on going first for every run and his balloons served as a great way to spot him on the slopes! Hizir also had ski school staff and even locals wishing him a happy birthday thanks to his birthday ski accessories and badge. In the evening he and everyone else also got treated to a huge delicious chocolate birthday cake with everyone singing him Happy Birthday (video to follow soon!).

Third day on the Slopes and More Awards

Today was another amazing day on the slopes! Every group has progressed so much from day one and there have been so many funny stories we all got to share this evening.

Cameron Thomas won honour of wearing the furry eyeball for casually eating a sandwich while skiing!

Dan Booker got the dummy award for being waist deep in powder!

Alfie Pye got the "stack of the day" award for taking out TWO instructors, half a ski group and getting stuck in a tree!

Aaliyah got the dummy award for skiing off the edge of on her first red run (which she then did amazingly at!).

Sonny got the "all the gear and no idea" award for not putting his boot on properly and somehow losing his boot AND ski which went off down the slope without him!

Hizir also got the furry eye award for deciding he didn't need to wear gloves when skiing and somehow still being able to feel his hands by the end of the day?!

Second Day on the Snow and Award Time

Today was an awesome day of more fun on the slopes! Lots of falling over and take-outs followed from a very organised morning of everyone getting themselves ready on time for more snow:

Miss Montgomery showing us how it's done on the slopes!

Mr Routledge EATING SNOW!!!

The day was topped off with bowling where everyone got into some fierce competition over who could score the most points! Taylor joined in with the evening activity and had the most expensive cab ride ever for a 100m journey back to the bus! His ankle is feeling much better and everyone was glad to see him join in.

Today we also gave out our first round of awards for students and staff, organised by Miss Montgomery with shopping help from Mr Wilson. First up were awards for acts of kindness, which the following students won:

1. Isabella Moore and Hizir Ceylan for volunteering to clean up the litter on the coach without being asked.
2. Hannah Clifford, Stan Balakov and Megan James for picking up their fellow skiers when they had fallen over.
3. Isabella Moore and Frankie Nicholls for helping and waiting with an injured student from another school, even offering to go to the hospital with her.

Kiera Barrington won the "Stack of the Day" for her antics during her first time on a bumpy blue run.

Jack Bird got the "All the Gear and No Idea" award for asking Miss Montgomery to test out his skis as they were "going too fast".

Lucy got the "Strop of the Day" award for kicking and screaming in frustration for taking about 20 minutes to get her skis back on for the 25th time on a red run.

Miss O'Brien got a "lack of punctuality" award for turning up to a 7:30am breakfast at 7:54!!

Jack Callahan got a some silly headwear to wear on the slopes tomorrow because he has ranked himself as a professional skier (who cannot turn and thinks the mountain belongs to him), claims that it's other people's fault when he careers into them, shouts at his skis because they will not go on (he's named them and has conversations with them) and "hugs" trees to stop himself!!

Routledge! For skiing even when he doesn't have skis on and sliding down the road after bowling.

First Day on the Snow!!

In the morning we woke up at SIX!!!! We went straight to the mountains via picking up our skis and helmet. Once we arrived we kitted up and headed straight for the slopes. The pro's (Lucy, Megan, Stan and Christie) went straight up in the ski lift while others stayed on the little hills and practice being Bambi on ice. After the morning of skiing and 2 and half hours of Isabella and Hizir spending most the time face first in the snow, we had lunch. Then two more hours of skiing and then back to the hotel for dinner. Currently we are at the swimming pool.  - Annabel and Albion.
